Learn the basics of stick fighting through comprehensive, self-paced, online courses.
It’s difficult to find quality online instruction in Filipino Martial Arts. Obviously, the best way to learn any full-contact martial art is by sparring with others, and stick fighting is no exception to that rule. But the reality is, not all of us have the opportunity or access to study in person, especially if your focus is more on the practical application of these skills than on the artform in and of itself.
My goal is to empower you to gain the foundation you need to then apply in a more practical context.

Though we won’t go into sparring, this course is designed to teach you how to deftly and smoothly maneuver and use a weapon. It’s a great foundation for developing accuracy, power, and speed.
This 4-week course explores the fundamentals of how to manipulate dual weapons (double sticks and stick and knife). This course builds on the first in the series and is meant for people with some experience.
Though we won’t go into sparring, the is course designed to teach you how to deftly and smoothly maneuver and use these weapons. It’s a great foundation for developing accuracy, power, and speed.

Shoulder, elbow, and hand mobility, and strength and control from swinging a stick are just a few attributes you’ll gain from this work. More importantly, the hand/eye and full body coordination is great for your brain and nervous system!
The programs will be permanently available to you, though you will need to be online, they are not downloadable.
You’ll need lots of drilling and sparring rounds to actually learn how to fight with weapons, but practicing the drills and concepts in this program will give you a great foundation.
Please consult with your healthcare provider first, but I’ve designed these programs to slowly ease you into training. With progressive, steady training, you may see improvements in your joint and muscle issues!
I’ve laid out these courses with the expectation that someone will be starting from zero. You don’t need any experience at all to begin right away!
Though these courses were designed for beginners, there are details and unique insights that can help even experienced practitioners. Of course, if you think that you are beyond that, there is no need for you to get this program.
You can start with any medium sized stick or dowel. I’d recommend between 26 and 30 inches long depending upon your height, and a diameter of 3/4” to 1.5”. Any hardware store can provide an inexpensive dowel for you, but I’d recommend getting rattan sticks like you can get from I&I Sports.
There is a recommended schedule of ~30-minute sessions, but you can do as little or as much as you like. I recommend doing even just 5 to 10 minutes a day if that’s all you have time for. It’s better to do a little bit a lot than to do a lot a little bit.
All sales are final (no refunds). The teaching and instruction have had great feedback, but if you are unsure, I suggest trying the free sample lessons to make sure this is right for you.
